Students who enjoy athletics have the opportunity to compete in several sports. Many Carroll High students participate in two or more events during the fall and spring semesters. Student athletes must meet academic and eligibility requirements as set by the Louisiana High School Athletic Association in order to compete. Academic eligibility requirements include the following:
Fall participation --- Students must have earned at least six (6) Carnegie units during the previous school year and at least a 2.0 GPA. Students may attend summer school/Credit Recovery to recoup credits failed, but they must complete their make-up work prior to the beginning of the new school year.
Spring participation --- Students must have passed at least six (6) classes during the Fall semester.
Sports offered at Carroll High School include the following: Basketball (Girls and Boys), Baseball, Softball, Football, Tennis (Girls & Boys), and Track & Field (Girls & Boys). The Track, Basketball (both Girls and Boys), and Football teams have enjoyed great success, earning trips to playoffs, winning State Championships, and having a legacy of appearing and excelling at the State Track & Field Meets (both indoor and outdoor).
In addition to the above-listed sports, Carroll High School also has opportunities football/basketball games, school ambassadors, hosts and hostesses).
Finally, the Carroll High cheerleaders practice and perform all year round with their support for athletic teams, performance of community service projects, and serving as hostesses along with the Carrollettes.
